Dr Attila Jonas - where East meets West.

Traditional Chinese Medicine has long been recognized by the World Health Organisation as a "complementary" medicine but is not integrated into our Western medical thinking yet.

Can it really be integrated at all?

My name is Dr Attila Jonas and I am a GMC registered Consultant Anaesthetist trained in both Eastern and Western medicine as well. I believe that Eastern medicine can be safely integrated with Western medicine and they can work together. Western medicine performs various diagnostic tests such as blood pressure monitoring, blood sugar monitoring, various blood tests and imaging modalities such as X-rays, ultrasound CT and MRI scans. Using my Western medical knowledge I can better understand your reports and can integrate this information into my Eastern understanding. This way I can go beyond our Western limits into the Eastern knowledge and build the correct herbal formula to make you better. Once you start taking the medication I can also use these Western diagnostics to follow up your condition to see how it changes during our treatment and make our practice safe and effective. I am calling this combination integration where East meets West and tradition meets science. This way Eastern medicine becomes equal with Western medicine and its safety as well as effectiveness can be proven with modern Western scientific tools. Together they can achieve more than each one alone.
